About Codec Help

Codec Help is a plain-English reference site for audio, video, codecs, containers, formats, and playback problems. The goal is to explain technical media terms without assuming the reader already knows the jargon.

The site brings together reference material, comparisons and troubleshooting guidance so readers can understand not only what a media term means, but how it relates to the rest of the playback and production chain.
